Try a clean uninstall ....
I found these instructions from ZoneLabs some time ago when I had problems with the free version at this time.

Step 1: Uninstall CLEANING

Please check that you have already downloaded the latest version,
and has a copy of your license key in progress. Well, do the following:

IMPORTANT - If you have a Cisco VPN client installed, you must first uninstall the VPN client, then follow the instructions below and install the Cisco VPN client again later. This procedure removes all traces of the TrueVector service, which was built in the Cisco VPN.

- If necessary, install a version 5.5 or earlier version 6.x software
then use the uninstall program to clean all
- Click on Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs
- Right click on Uninstall Zone Labs Security, then select Properties
On the basis of - the target may have the following line (see the actual drive is different on your system):

"C: \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ Program Files \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ Zone Labs \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ ZoneAlarm \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ zauninst.exe "

Jump to:

"" C: \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ Program Files \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ Zone Labs \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ ZoneAlarm \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ zauninst.exe "/ clean / rmlicense

(add a space, and clean /, followed by a space and / rmlicense)

- Click on OK to save the command line.
- Click Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs -> Uninstall Zone Labs Security
- Click on OK to run the uninstaller, and OK any security alerts that appear.

- Say "Yes" to the request for the withdrawal of all files.
- Manually delete the Internet protocols (in the Windows folder)
- Remove the Zone Labs folder (in the Applications folder)
- Remove the Zone Labs folder (folder in Windows \\ System32)
- Empty the Temp folder (something like C: \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ Documents and
Settings \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ Name "\\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ Local Settings \\ Temp)
- Empty the Windows Pre Fetch (in the main Windows folder)
- Empty Trash

- Reboot Now
- Install the latest version

Make sure all the defaults during installation(You
can be adjusted later).

-------------------------------------- ...
(I hope so. Good luck.)
